Coaching Carousel Has Ramifications
Wow, big day yesterday in the coaching ranks. Tubby left Kentucky for Minnesota. Alford split Iowa City for Albuquerque. Both moves have local ramifications.
Bishop Ireton center Mike Williams, considered a project by many, signed with Kentucky in the fall. He's still committed to Kentucky but that could change once a new coach is hired, whether it's the doing of Williams or the new coach. Even though a letter-of-intent is binding on both parties, those things seem to have a way of changing.
Meantime, DeMatha guard Jeff Peterson had taken an official visit to Iowa and enjoyed the trip so much he nearly committted to the Hawkeyes. Alford came to the City Title game and went to Frostburg to watch Peterson play in the Alhambra tournament. But with Alford out of the picture, it remains to be seen if Peterson will wait until a new coach is hired to make a decision and if so, how he then will feel about Iowa.

Good for Deontay! A good guy with great talent. Give him a chance and don't ever forget that the guy with the most heart wins.
