Peterson Visits the Arch
Not sure if DeMatha guard Jeff Peterson really did visit the Midwest landmark -- I actually went there with DeMatha's entire team back in the days of Keith Bogans and Joe Forte -- but Peterson did take an official visit to St. Louis this week.
Stags Coach Mike Jones said Peterson had planned to decide after the trip between St. Louis, Iowa and Xavier, but now Jones is unclear what's next given Steve Alford leaving Iowa for New Mexico.
Perhaps the wildest thing rumor out there: Apparently some are wondering whether Alford was recruiting Peterson to New Mexico when he was still at Iowa. I don't know if i buy that one -- but it's certainly an interesting thought.

Update from Xavier... backup PG (soph. Johnny Wolf) was granted a release from the program to explore transfer opportunities. This opens up another scholarship (at least 2 left for next season) and the spot backing up Drew Lavender at the point.
This and Sean Miller's contract extension could entice Peterson to Cincy. We'll see.

I think Peterson might end up at SLU. They have two very good guards that are sophomores, but he could get time there in a 3 guard system or as a back-up.
As a Xavier alum, I'd love to see him in Cincinnati and we still have a scholarship to give. But, we have 2 PGs and have signed another 2 for '08. Kind of stacked at the position for awhile.
