Impact of the Internet?

I've had plenty of conversations with folks on this very topic: Whether too much is made of recruiting ratings etc. The story I always go back to comes from a local high school basketball coach, who compared these ratings to odds sheets at the horse track. Just because a horse is a favorite doesn't guarantee future success. Anyway, here's a good story from the Associated Press.
