Peterson to Iowa?

The story that seemingly never ends looks like to wrap up, possibly as soon as tonight and all indications are that DeMatha point guard Jeff Peterson will sign with Iowa. He had been waiting to meet the Hawkeyes' new coach, Todd Lickliter, before making a final decision. That happened yesterday, when Lickliter visited DeMatha.

"Great meeting," Stags Coach Mike Jones said. "I was very impressed."

Peterson originally committed to Princeton before deciding to take another look at his options in February. Princeton subsequently lost its coach and has yet to hire a replacement. The other school Peterson is considering, St. Louis, yesterday fired its coach.

A correction: Princeton did not *fire* Joe Scott. Scott left the school on his own volition to take the head coaching job at Denver.

Josh said Princeton *lost* its coach. I do not see the word fire. He did say that St. Louis *fired* its coach.

Good for Peterson. He was wise to keep his choices open, now he's ended up at a good school with a very good coach.

Wish he could have been a Musketeer, but can understand his hesitance to join a team with a bunch of talented guards coming in the year after him.

Thanks Kev, for the kind words about the University of Iowa... we are delighted to have Jeff on board with the Hawkeyes!
