Man About High Schools Preston Williams has an item up about Pittsburgh-area standout Herb Pope, who played for Montrose Christian as a freshman and had been a target for some local colleges. Pope was shot four times at a party and is in a hospital recovering.

The Pittsburgh Post Gazette story in the link was actually reported practically verbatim two days earlier in the Beaver County (Pa.) Times, which covers Pope's high school.

A few weeks ago his myspace page included talk of his birthday party having free weed for everyone who came...so yeah, he might be hanging around the wrong people from time to time.
