Prospect Gets Timely Ride to Va. Tech

Virginia Tech added Oakton WR Ervin Garner after Osbourn Park LB Quillie Odom failed to qualify academically and instead will go to Hargrave Military Academy in the fall. Man About Roanoke Doug Doughty reports that Garner was bound for Towson until the Tigers got into a situation of having promised too many scholarships, leaving Garner out of luck until the Hokies had an opportunity.
