Gilchrist Bound for Notre Dame Academy?

Sure seems that way, though there is no definitive word as I have been unable to reach Augustus Gilchrist and others potentially in the know, including Notre Dame Academy Coach Tim Fudd.

Gilchrist was a second-team All-Met basketball player last year while playing for Progressive Christian. He signed with Virginia Tech in the fall, but this spring told Hokies Coach Seth Greenberg he will not attend the school this fall, saying he was impacted by the campus shootings in April.

GIlchrist has not made any public comments since, but all indications are that Gilchrist is bound for the Middleburg private school. Progressive Christian Coach Van Whitfield earlier this week told me he did not know whether Gilchrist to Notre Dame was a done deal, but that was his impression from seeing Gilchrist in action in the Kenner college summer league at Georgetown.

"That's what the PA guy is always saying, whenever he scores -- which is often -- he always says, Gus Gilchrist from Notre Dame Academy," Whitfield said.
