Point Guard Not Going to Drive at GMU

George Mason recruit Jay Threatt, a poiint guard from Richmond, is facing charges of abduction and robbery in connection with a carjacking and a judge yesterday prohibited him from enrolling in college while he faces charges.

Threatt was a late addition to Mason's recruiting class and the Patriots are believed to be looking for a point guard, which in turn has fueled speculation as Ball State Coach Ronny Thompson has been mum on his future. If Thompson were to leave Ball State, some in college basketball circles wonder what All-Met guard Deontay Twyman would do.

Update: However, if Twyman were to transfer, he might have to sit out the upcoming season. While the fall semester is still two months away, Twyman is enrolled and taking classes in summer school and would be subject to the NCAA transfer rule and have to sit out a year unless the NCAA were to grant an appeal.
