Twyman Taking His Time at Ball State
Got in touch with Sherwood All-Met guard Deontay Twyman, whose brief college career already has had a few bumps. Twyman enrolled at Ball State for the second summer session, which concludes Friday, and already he's having to go through a coaching change after Ronny Thompson resigned last week.
Twyman, who is taking classes in sociology and music history, said he was somewhat surprised by Thompson's resignation and that he has yet to think about his own future. Because he has started classes at Ball State, if he decides to leave Twyman would be subject to the NCAA's rule requiring transfers to sit out a year of competition unless his new school were to obtain a waiver.
However, such talk could be getting ahead of things. Twyman said he will not think about his next step until he returns home this weekend.
"I haven't really looked into it because I'm not sure what I'm going to do," Twyman said. "Right now, I'm trying to finish up my classes. Then I'm going to deal with it."
