DeMatha No. 3 in the Nation?
This isn't recruiting news, but it is football season. For what it's worth -- and I don't put too much stock into -- DeMatha is ranked third nationally by prepnation.com for the upcoming football season.
Perhaps more interesting, the Stags open their season Sept. 2 in Cincinnati against top-ranked St. Xavier. (Sounds like a roadtrip, eh, Big Boss Man?)
No other local teams made the national cut. In the Website's regional east coast rankings, Westfield is No. 7, followed by Good Counsel at No. 10, No. 11 Chantilly, No. 14 Friendly, No. 18 Osbourn (really, even after Brandon Hogan is off to West Virginia), No. 22 Potomac (Va.), No. 23 Centreville and No. 25 Damascus.
I haven't given it much thought yet, but if anyone wants to weigh in on The Post's preseason Top 20, feel free to chime in.
