More On Whitaker and His Move to Receiver
As expected, there's plenty of stories today about Ike Whitaker's move to wide receiver at Virginia Tech. Whitaker said that freshman Tyrod Taylor reminds him of Marcus Vick. (I'll skip the obvious opportunity to make a joke here.) Also, Whitaker said he's okay with the move, figuring otherwise he'd been signaling in the plays for two years. Whitaker says he and Taylor "will be a pretty good dual threat in the future.
Reading between the lines, there is no talk about Whitaker transferring and the potential to earn playing time is there. That said, if the transition to a new position does not go smoothly, don't be surprised if Whitaker explores his options after the season. For now, though, he seems to be saying and doing all the right things.
