Marshall Talks About Picking UNC
Just got off the phone with O'Connell sophomore guard Kendall Marshall, who this afternoon announced he has accepted a scholarship to play basketball for North Carolina.
"Carolina has always been a dream school of mine," Marshall said. "It's always been a dream of mine to go there. Getting an offer from Coach Roy Williams and taking a visit down there solidified my thinking."
Marshall said Williams extended the scholarship offer when the player visited Chapel Hill over Labor Day weekend.
While he has been accustomed to the spotlight since the start of middle school, Marshall acknowledged it seemed "a little" weird to pick a college when he has played only one season of high school basketball and has three seasons remaining.
"But I'm comfortable with it and it's somewhere I want to be," Marshall said. "If it's somewhere where you want to be and they want you there, instead of holding on and having other schools wait on you, you should get it out of the way and that way you can focus on high school."
