All-Met Notes; U-Md. Recruit Has Foot Surgery

The All-Met teams were published Wednesday. Many of the first-teamers already have made verbal commitments:
Westfield QB Mike Glennon to North Carolina State
Stone Bridge DB Jeron Gouveia to Virginia Tech
Friendly RB Josh Haden to Boston College
Surrattsville RB Davin Meggett, H.D. Woodson WR Tavon Wilson and Forestville WR Kevin Dorsey to Maryland
West Potomac OL Jimmy Bennett to Connecticut
West Springfield K Tyler Bitancurt to West Virginia
St. John's DB Antwon Bailey to Syracuse

Perhaps the most impressive performance was by Dorsey, who showed up for the picture last week on crutches, two days after having surgery on his foot. The nagging pain that had bothered him the past two seasons finally reached a point where it was necessary to take action. He said the procedure was similar to removing a bone spur as surgeons shaved part of the bone on his big toe.

"Eventually I had no choice but to address it," Dorsey said. "That's why I'm doing this now."

Dorsey hopes to be out of a walking boot by the end of January and then walking and running again shortly thereafter.

Tavon Wilson is no longer a MD verbal. Yet another traitor that Locksley pulled in.
