Last Push For Tate
While DeMatha two-time All-Met wide receiver Kenny Tate had football coach Bill McGregor tell recruiters that Tate did not want to talk to them anymore, that didn't stop the college coaches from coming to watch Tate play basketball last night.
Maryland coordinators James Franklin and Chris Cosh and Illinois offensive coordinator Mike Locksley were in Hyattsville to watch Tate and the Stags handle St. Mary's Ryken.
"They knew they couldn't speak to him or his parents," DeMatha basketball coach Mike Jones said. "They just wanted to get one last little bit of face time."
If Maryland can land Tate, it's could turn out to be a big week for the Terrapins. Friendly All-Met linebacker Eteyen Edet committed on Sunday and Maryland appears to have picked up a commitment from another All-Met.
