U-Va. Gets Two Local Backs

Virginia got a commitment earlier this week from Chancellor running back Dominique Wallace and now there is word the Cavaliers have also have gotten a commitment from Good Counsel speedster Caleb Porzel.

Wallace was the Virginia AA Battlefield District offensive player of the year this past season. He committed after attending a junior prospect day in Charlottesville over the weekend.

There had been concerns about Porzel's size (5-9, 180), but his ability to run fast drew plenty of attention.

Both players were on my list of the Washington area's top junior prospects.

FINALLY, the Hoos are making their presence felt in the DC area. I don't know what took so long, but the last couple years are a good sign. Too much talent, with good smarts, and too close to c'ville to ignore. Good job Al.

Porzel loves coaches who choose to kick off to start both halves.

I was just wondering if Tech was interested in these 2 players.

Porzel would love to run all over the pitiful Terp defense like Mikell Simpson (#5? who game planned for #5???)
