Local QB Makes ACC Pick
Virginia picked up its fourth verbal commitment from the class of rising high school seniors as Sherando quarterback Ross Metheny pledged for the Cavaliers yesterday. Virginia offered Metheny a scholarship last month and he subsequently went on a spring break college tour to Georgia, Connecticut and Boston College before reaching a decision and telling the Cavaliers while attending a spring practice yesterday.
"Playing for Virginia has always been in the back of my mind," Metheny told the Winchester Star. "Then when they made that offer I knew that's where I wanted to be. I went with my heart."
Among the Cavaliers' previous commitments are Good Counsel running back Caleb Porzel and Chancellor running back Dominique Wallace.
