Gary, K Hit the Recruiting Trail

With their teams done for the season, it was a big day yesterday in local gyms. Duke Coach Mike Krzyzewski was at Montrose Christian to see Terrell Vinson and teammates work out, while Maryland Coach Gary Williams was around the Beltway at National Christian to watch standout Dante Taylor, who already holds a scholarship offer from the Terrapins.

"Dante Taylor might be a pro," National Christian Coach Trevor Brown said. "He is getting recruited by everybody. There's no one in this city better than Dante Taylor."

Georgetown, Villanova, West Virginia and Connecticut are also recruiting the 6-foot-9 junior, Brown said, but so are plenty of other schools and "as soon as you leave somebody out, somebody will be calling saying, 'How come you didn't put us on?' "

Over in Rockville, Coach K and assistant Steve Wojciechowski were at Montrose, while North Carolina State's Sidney Lowe is expected today and Villanova's Jay Wright tomorrow.

Georgetown is the way to go young man. JTIII is the best coach in America, and you will be playing in the Big East, the best conference in the land. And more importantly you will be getting a GU education, and an opportunity to live in Georgetown, God's gift to the world.

The fact that Taylor who is the most talented kid in the area wasn't first team all met brings into question the Post's ability to cover HS hoops.
