Terps Land a Coyote
Clarksburg Coach Larry Hurd was almost as elusive as running back Avery Graham, but colleague Alan Goldenbach finally caught up with Hurd to confirm that Graham became the school's first player to secure to a Division I-A football scholarship when the 6-foot, 180-pounder orally committed to Maryland. Last year, Graham rushed for 675 yards and 11 touchdowns, as a complement to featured back Mark Small. He also returned two kickoffs for scores for the Maryland 2A semifinalists.
According to Coyotes Coach Larry Hurd, Graham will also run track for the Terps. Graham placed first in the 55-meter dash and shot put at the Maryland 2A indoor track and field championships in February.
