Penn State Lands Another All-Met

Chalk up one more for Penn State. Gaithersburg All-Met lineman Sean Stanley earlier this afternoon committed to play for the Nittany Lions.

"He thought about Maryland," Gaithersburg Coach Kreg Kephart said. "I think he thought long and hard about Georgia, Stanford and Michigan. And Pitt. And Tennessee and Nebraska. Those were the main ones he was thinking about."

Stanley said he took about 10 campus visits this spring and that Penn State was by far his favorite. The feeling was reinforced by a phone call from recruiter extraordinaire Larry Johnson. And Kephart felt his star was tiring of the recruiting process. So it was time to make a decision.

"I felt it was time to end this process so I could focus on my lifting," Stanley said.

Stanley said being the fifth local rising senior played a part in his decision, adding that when Lackey cornerback Darrell Givens changed his commitment from Ohio State to Penn State "that made it even more interesting."

More to come later this week on this, but here's an interview from earlier this spring with Stanley:
