DeMatha QB Ready to Choose Pitt?

It could happen. That was one of the tidbits passed along this morning by DeMatha Coach Bill McGregor.

Quarterback Tom Chroniger is scheduled to attend a one-day camp at Pittsburgh this weekend and could choose the Panthers if they offer a scholarship. Chroniger presently holds offers from three Mid-American Conference schools - Eastern Michigan, Akron, Buffalo - and six division I-Aas.

Offensive lineman Pete DeSouza has offers from Maryland, Syracuse and Delaware - an interesting trio. "I've got to start pinning him down to see what he wants to do," McGregor said. Linebacker Raheem Cardwell has offers from Syracuse and East Carolina, while tight end Jeremiah Mathis (6-3, 247)yesterday picked up his first offer, from Liberty.

McGregor thinks that interest in Mathis, wide receiver Michael Milburn (6-3) and running back Donte Washington (5-10, 205) will pick up. Milburn is president of the school's student council next year, while Washington is coming off a spring in which he and Good Counsel speedster Caleb Porzel traded victories on the track, McGregor said.
