DeMatha-Good Counsel on ESPN2
It's never too early to talk football, is it? Coming off its flop on national TV to start this past season, DeMatha will return to the airwaves this fall, with ESPN2 picking up the Stags' game at Good Counsel. The game will be moved up one day, to Thursday, Oct. 2, kickoff at 6:30 p.m. The two teams have dominated the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference in recent years.

DaMaffa couldn't move the ball at all in that game. It was embaressing. Man up.

St. X would have done that to any team in this area, probably by a ton more. 28-7 is actually quite respectable for a team from this area against a GCL power. It's a different world in Ohio when it comes to HS football.

a qb starting for ther first time in a hs game and it's on national tv. didnt chroniger throw 3-4 ints? Name 1 team in the entire country who could do and be competitive. Still no excuse not to be able to move the ball with an o-line much bigger than St X's d-line. Play-calling wasnt too strong.
And no need to say GC has dominated the WCAC...what has GC won when it counted most?

Yeah really and Chroniger is getting big looks. Maybe he will be better this year but Big D can and should be able to beat teams like that with as many NFL and D1 college guys as they have.

Thanks for journalistic integrity, Mr. Barr, in referring to a game that DeMatha played competitive football on an opposing field, out of state, to a top three team in the country to open the season a "flop." Perhaps a writer might be more considerate of his word choice?
