Locals Trying Out for U-18 National Team
Montrose Christian rising seniors Terrell Vinson (an All-Met) and Isaiah Armwood are among the 25 players who will compete at Verizon Center next week to be named to the under-18 national team that will compete in Argentina next month. Georgetown incoming freshman Hollis Thompson and Virginia incoming freshman Sylven Landesburg also are among the group. Davidson Coach Bob McKillop is the coach, with Georgetown's John Thompson III and VCU's Anthony Grant as assistants.
It was interesting (to me at least) that two other local rising seniors were not included in this group: National Christian second-team All-Met Dante Taylor and Carroll All-Met Rodney McGruder, nor was former Bladensburg standout Wally Judge.
