More from Spurlock Picking U-Va. over G'town

Just got off the line with Tristan Spurlock, who reports he's "doing real good" after accepting a scholarship offer from Virginia last night.

"I think everybody pretty much knows it came down to them and Georgetown for my last two," Spurlock said. "Both of them are close enough to home. I definitely liked both head coaches and the coaching stafs. But they had been on me the longest and I was comfortable with their style of play. I felt in my gut it was the right call.

"I definitely wanted to do it before my senior year started so I would have the pressure off. I don't have to go out and perform to impress anybody. Now I can just go out there and play."

After a summer traversing the country to play in tournaments and attend camps, Spurlock still must figure out where he will go to school this year. He attended Woodbridge as a freshman and played for Montrose Christian the past two seasons.

"I don't even have a top" choice, Spurlock said. "I know it's getting late."

How about noting the actual sport for which the athlete is receiving a scholarship offer? Alot of area high schools and colleges are prominent in multiple sports, and produce multiple scholarship qualifiers...

because he's too busy being snide and trying to demonstrate a young kids' lack of appropriate grammar.
