Woody Hired at USF; Will Make Sure DirecTV Is On
I'm sure there won't be too much reaction on this one.
Terrelle Woody is now on the staff at South Florida. He'll be the Bulls' video and conditioning assistant. While Woody has been in Tampa since midsummer, working camp and running open gym for South Florida Coach Stan Heath, Heath insisted he only now decided to hire Woody. Of course, if Woody had been hired already, NCAA rules would have prohibited him from running open gym for USF players.
Woody's job duties, per the second link:
include recording games of upcoming opponents, making sure the televisions in the coaches' offices are connected to DirectTV and assisting a certified strength and conditioning coach with the players.Which prompted this amusing reader comment:
I need to get one of these jobs. I can run a tivo and connect Direct tv. I hope I can get considered for his job next time. I never saw it posted.

Well, UMD fans should keep in mind that coach Williams and the University went after Gilchrest, even though he is a head case, and had ties to Woody. You can't have it both ways. How low the mighty have fallen!!!

Maryland will finish with a 4-8 record – good for last place in the ACC (even behind Duke).
I was extremely happy to hear that, Maryland is no longer recruiting Tavon Austin.

Wow, this guy had your best interests at heart Gus, you could be entering your 2nd year at a young, but top 25 team at VT this year. Way to go!!!

As one of my Terrapin brethren suggested... U.So.FL got Gilchrest for 30K per year... not paid directly to Gilchrest, but close enough.
Despite deserting the Terps, most of us fans actually do wish that he is able to pull his life together, though we'd have wished he stayed with his statements and committments to Gary Williams and the MD coaching staff.
BTW, USF should be San Francisco, not So. Florida... give the great legacy of the real USF a break...
