Less Means More for DeMatha Lineman

I've got a neat story in today's paper about a player making himself into a potential scholarship player. DeMatha offensive lineman Calvin McDowney lost 85 pounds this past offseason and now starts at guard for the Stags. Simple things, such as eating smaller portions and drinking more water helped McDowney, as did refining his diet to include fewer fatty foods. If things go the way Stags Coach Bill McGregor expects, don't be surprised to see McDowney included on DeMatha's list of signees come February.

CONGRATS ON MR MCDOWNEY LOSING THE WEIGHT BUT WHAT ABOUT GRADES THERE WAS NO MENTION OF GRADES, SO WHAT IF HE IS A SCHOLARSHIP CANDIDATE, BUT HIM FAILING AND GOING TO SUMMER SCHOOL EVERY YEAR SINCE FRESHMAN YEAR SHOULD NOT BE ACCEPTABLE EITHER

Maryland's defensive line is a complete joke.

I have seen a better pass rush by Pop Warner and CYO teams.

Prediction for Maryland's upcoming game --

Califonia - 48
Maryland - 13

Maryland will finish with a 3-9 record (good for last place in the ACC - even behind Duke)

I am glad that Maryland is no longer recruiting Tavon Austin.

Jelani Jenkins and Travis Hawkins will be signing with the University of Florida.
