Maryland's Opponent Is Quite 'Special'

Great reporting here - and Maryland's upcoming opponent isn't looking too good. California reported that in 2004, 95 percent of its freshmen football players received special admission to the school.

There isn't even a common definition for special admits. Some schools that say they have none acknowledge that sports talent can help an academically marginal student gain admission.

Maryland and Virginia Tech did not provide information that could be computed into percentages for this report. Virginia reporting that it had no special admits.

Maryland's defensive line is a complete joke.

I have seen a better pass rush by Pop Warner and CYO teams.

Prediction for Maryland's upcoming game --

Califonia - 48
Maryland - 13

Maryland will finish with a 3-9 record (good for last place in the ACC - even behind Duke)

I am glad that Maryland is no longer recruiting Tavon Austin.

Jelani Jenkins and Travis Hawkins will be signing with the University of Florida.

Dennis,

No offense but you might consider introducing some new material to the Terrapin Insider. You've posted the same content within three separate threads.

Your most recent post is irrelevant to Josh Barr's discussion. Mr. Barr is pondering admission policies while you're still harping about Maryland's offensive line.

Kind regards,
Cal grad

Is that some kind of joke? I went to school with two guys that went on to play football at Virginia. They were both idiots. They would not have even considered trying to apply to schools of that caliber without football on their resumes. Then again, maybe they have a special code word for special admits at UVA.

I am sorry I have been saying those things about Maryland football. I finally see how my bitterness about not getting into Maryland is affecting my personal life because recently my boyfriend Carl left me for another guy. I want to apologize to all the people that I have annoyed with my repetitive, ignorant postings. I actually wish that Tavon Austin, Jelani Jenkins, and Travis Hawkins would go play for Maryland because Ralph is the best coach in college football. Thank you Washington Post for putting up with my crap
