Coach Talks About Hawkins' Picking Terps
From Quince Orchard Coach Dave Mencarini:
"I think it came down to him the last couple weeks focusing on things he's looking for. Opportunity, for one, and a comfort level with the coaches. You really find out a lot about who wants and needs you during this process. A lot of schools want kids, but do they need them?
"Honestly, I think a lot of it had to do with his relationship with Ralph. Since he was a sophomore, they've been recruiting him. They did a great job. They didn't kiss his ass. But they made it crystal clear they needed him. And there is an opportunity at his position. He's going to graduate midyear and he'll be there in the spring. And being close to home, his mom and dad and his support system could share in the experience with him."

Prediction:
Iowa 33
Penn State 31
I am glad Travis Hawkins did not pick "The University of Penn State".
Maryland will finish the season with a 4-8 record.
Hopefully we will not have to hear from Gary ever again.

I am glad that Travis Hawkins chose the University of Maryland - and did not even consider attending the University of North Carolina.
Go Terps!
