Terps Go to NYC for a Forward

Maryland added to its future roster, getting a commitment from 6-8 forward James Padgett of New York. He averaged nine points and nine rebounds last season and reportedly picked the Terrapins over Pittsburgh, who had just taken a commitment from Bishop McNamara's Talib Zanna.

This kid is not an ACC level player.

How can you say he isn't an ACC level player when he held several offers from the Big East.

Don't worry about "buckets". Some folks are always negative. Good pickup by the Terps.

Another, terrible recruit by Gary Williams.

Maryland will finish with a 15-16 record and 4-12 in the ACC.

No NCAA bid

No NIT bid

You are an idiot Gary. This is exactly the type of kid we need to get. 4 star and a tough NY kid. He is the beginning of a good 2009 class that MD desperately needs.

Clearly you guys have not seen this play saying he is a good pickup. I watched him 6 or 7 times last year. He is an undersized big man, with limited quickness and ball skills. In the NYC PSAL he fails to be a dominating force even though he is bigger and longer than everyone on the court. Another sub-par recruit for the terps.

Maryland Basketball goes down to another crushing defeat on the recruiting trail:

St. Frances small forward Terrell Vinson, a 2009 prospect who recently transferred from Montrose Christian, has made his college choice. According to this premium article from Scout.com, Vinson committed to Loyola Marymount yesterday. He picked the West Coast Conference school over offers from Maryland, Georgetown and Villanova.
