Next Year's Top QB Prospect?

Spent a few minutes during halftime of Wise's 14-6 victory over Eleanor Roosevelt chatting with Arundel Coach Chuck Markiewicz, who had a top-row seat scouting potential opponents. Markiewicz said that his quarterback, Billy Cosh, has gotten some interest from East Carolina, but that the recruiting process has yet to really start for the junior whose father is one of the top assistant coaches at the University of Maryland.

"We're just sending stuff out," Markiewicz said. "We really won't know much until the end of the season."

In his first season as a starter, Cosh has 235 of 350 passes for 3,190 yards and a state single-season record 48 touchdowns with just nine interceptions.

With his father, Chris, working as Maryland's defensive coordinator, Markiewicz is sure that Cosh will attract plenty of attention.

"His dad knows a lot of people, he knows a few folks," Markiewicz said. "He really likes East Carolina and Skip Holtz. Lou Holtz and his dad are good friends. He wants me to send something to Texas Tech because we really like what they're doing."
