Cotton On the Move
Yep, Ray Cotton no longer Auburn bound.. Katie Carrera with the news tonight:
Several subscription Auburn football recruiting websites, along with ESPN, are reporting that Meade quarterback Raymond Cotton has decommitted from Auburn after coach Tommy Tuberville's resignation. Read about it here.
Cotton was extremely fond of Tuberville and said all along that the coach was a main factor in his decision to attend Auburn. Even after Tigers offensive coordinator Tony Franklin was fired after seven games, Cotton stuck with Auburn after being reassured by Tuberville that the program's goals were still the same. (And that they'd still be open to running a spread offense.)
His father, Raymond Sr., told ESPN, "Ray has never made any bones about it. He has said that he wouldn't go to Auburn if Tuberville wasn't there. So basically, that is where we are at."
Before he selected Auburn as a junior in 2007 -- and before his family moved to the Washington area --, Cotton was considering Mississippi State, Kentucky, Purdue and Troy.

Ralph needs to be all over this kid like a buffet. He should have had Franklin out to see this kid the day he moved to Ft. Meade. 3 games into the season Tubberville was in trouble and it was no secret he was going to be out if things didn't turn around.
