Another Local Footballer Picks New Mexico
Hopefully those New Mexico faithful that emailed and, yes, called earlier this month will be happy to know that DeMatha offensive lineman Calvin McDowney has committed to play for the Lobos after taking an official visit to Albuquerque this past weekend.
This is truly a success story. I chronicled McDowney's massive weight loss before the season, when Stags Coach Bill McGregor said that if things went right, then McDowney would earn a college scholarship.
Guess he was right.
Also, DeMatha defensive lineman Ikechi Nnawuba committed to play for North Carolina Central.
