Gwynn Park Lineman Bound for ACC
Got a call earlier tonight from Gwynn Park Coach Danny Hayes, who shared the news that standout lineman Raynard Randolph committed to North Carolina State today during his official visit to the Raleigh campus.
The Wolfpack recruited the 6-3, 315-pound Randolph, a second-team All-Met, to play nose tackle, Hayes said.
"He just came back from his visit and really loved it," Hayes said. "They have everything that he wanted. [Assistant coach] Keith [Willis] was just a great guy. He felt very comfortable at N.C. State."
Randolph is the third Gwynn Park player to make his college choice. Running back Nygee Carmichael and defensive back William Speight previously pledged for Towson. Hayes said that lineman Reggie Eiland is leaning toward Colgate over Lehigh and linebacker Zachary Harper has offers from Morgan State and Delaware State.
On another front, word is that Randolph was not the only local senior to commit to an ACC school this weekend. I should have news of another commitment in the morning.
