Things Bustling at Good Counsel

Just spoke to Good Counsel assistant Kevin McFadden, who reports that several rising seniors are "blowing up," along with one hot rising junior.

Cornerback Louis Young (6-1, 175), previously committed to Stanford but now exploring all options, is getting the most interest, holding additional scholarship offers from Maryland, Virginia Tech, Boston College, North Carolina, N.C. State, Pittsburgh and Kansas State.

Rutgers has offered wide receiver E.J. Scott (5-11, 170), who is headed to Virginia's junior day this weekend and could add an offer from the Cavaliers.

Safety Frank Tamakloe (6-3, 175) has offers from North Carolina and N.C. State.

Defensive end Troy Gloster (6-0, 215) has offers from North Carolina, West Virginia, Boston College and Stanford.

And sophomore defensive end-tight end Vincent Croce (6-5, 245) has verbal offers from Maryland, West Virginia and N.C. State. Those offers, and others, should become official on Sept. 1, when colleges can make formal scholarship offers to high school juniors.

"All of them are blowing up," McFadden said. "I just got off the phone with Iowa. It's getting crazy."

As long as, none of these players choose Maryland - than I am extremely happy.

Maryland will finish with a 2-10 record in 2009
