Who Had the Best Day Locally?

I'm not sure the answer, but which team did the best job recruiting the Washington area this football season?

A) Maryland. The Terps picked up nine locals (11 if you count two 2008 grads who spent this year at prep school) and landed two key players in All-Met CB Travis Hawkins and OL Pete White.

B) Penn State. Another big year locally for the Nittany Lions. All-Met DE Sean Stanley and a bunch of others are heading up U.S. 15,

C) New Mexico. Nothing like taking over at the last minute and making an impact, but that's what new Lobos Coach Mike Locksley did.

D) Towson. Laugh if you want, but new coach Rob Ambrose nine locals, including DeMatha QB Tom Chroniger, who could turn out to be a key player. James Madison and Prairie View A&M (former coach Henry Frazier is a D.C. guy) also did well.

Maryland suffers another crushing defeat.

Maryland will finish with a 2-10 record in 2009

Go Tar Heels !

HClark,

Don't you realize that these comments on a Terps board just make UNC look bad? It is good to be happy and proud of the Heels, but go root for them on a UNC discussion board. I tend to follow the mantra of Act as if you have been there before.

Sincerely,
A UNC Undergrad Alumni and a proud UM Grad school alumni

bburnman,

The dude has a serious vendetta against umd. He’s not a tar hell fan, but a bandwagon wh0re. Previously he was hyping psu. unc is just his flavor of the moment

you nailed it. if he had the academic creds to know how to spell "Anteater," he'd probably be p1mping UC-Irvine!

Penn State doesn't suprise me even if Joe Pa is stuffed and mounted. New Mexico is a suprise! I recently moved from Albuquerque and their program doesn't compare to Maryland in any sense? The Lobos usually get the leftovers from Texas programs. University Stadium holds about 35,000 and Albuquerque is not exactly the center of the football universe in the southwest.
