Who Had the Best Day Locally?
I'm not sure the answer, but which team did the best job recruiting the Washington area this football season?
A) Maryland. The Terps picked up nine locals (11 if you count two 2008 grads who spent this year at prep school) and landed two key players in All-Met CB Travis Hawkins and OL Pete White.
B) Penn State. Another big year locally for the Nittany Lions. All-Met DE Sean Stanley and a bunch of others are heading up U.S. 15,
C) New Mexico. Nothing like taking over at the last minute and making an impact, but that's what new Lobos Coach Mike Locksley did.
D) Towson. Laugh if you want, but new coach Rob Ambrose nine locals, including DeMatha QB Tom Chroniger, who could turn out to be a key player. James Madison and Prairie View A&M (former coach Henry Frazier is a D.C. guy) also did well.
