Dante Taylor at Mickey D's

While he's in Miami preparing for the McDonald's All-American Game on Wednesday, National Christian star Dante Taylor is sending daily updates of the time leading up the game. Here's his first installment:

This morning I woke up (a little bit too early!) and went downstairs for breakfast at the hotel. I attended church service, and then got on the bus with the team to visit the Ronald McDonald House of Miami.
Visiting the Ronald McDonald House was a really good experience, and definitely one of the best things about this entire trip. It was nice to put a smile on the kids' faces and brighten their day. I know some of them are going through really hard times, and it was great to help them escape their problems just for that afternoon. I also got a chance to play some basketball with the kids, and I even let one of them dunk on me!
After the house visit, we went to our first practice and did some drills. I did some shooting, went over plays and then did a few interviews afterwards. I also practiced for the skills contest because I am competing at Jam Fest tomorrow night. Make sure you watch me live on Monday on ESPN2 at 8 p.m. ET. I know I'm going to win it all! The Games and Jam Fest are going to be big for me this week because this will be the first time I'll be on national television, which is exciting.
Stay tuned for my journal tomorrow...
