H.D. Woodson Duo Bound for Kentucky

Alan Goldenbach with some news:

H.D. Woodson seniors Jeniece Johnson
and Bernisha Pinkett signed letters-of-intent Wednesday with Kentucky, according to Warriors Coach Frank Oliver. Both players took official visits to the Lexington campus last weekend and came away very impressed.

"The new $30 millon facility doesn't hurt either," Oliver said of the Wildcats' basketball complex, which should get pampered even more with the arrival of new men's coach John Calipari.

Both Johnson, a 6-6 center, and Pinkett, a 5-8 guard who led the Warriors in scoring three straight seasons, had verbally committed to North Carolina State before last season, but never signed. After Wolfpack Coach Kay Yow died in January, Oliver said he was hesistant about the program's direction if they did not promote from within. The school today will hire Western Carolina's Kellie Harper to succeed Yow.

The third Woodson senior to give a verbal pledge to N.C. State but not sign a letter of intent, guard Carleeda Green, has an official visit scheduled for South Florida, according to Oliver and will make her decision before the spring signing period ends May 20.

Dear Josh,

I would rather jump off the key bridge than read updates about Womens basketball recruiting.
