Spring Signing Period Begins Today

It's the start of the spring signing period for basketball, which promises to be busier than usual. Locally, the two top players with things to decide are Springbrook All-Met forward Jamal Olasewere and Word of Life second-team All-Met forward Tristan Spurlock. Olasewere has been courted by Georgetown in recent weeks but has yet to receive a scholarship offer and is waiting to see how things develop. Spurlock signed with Virginia in the fall, but is reconsidering after the Cavaliers replaced Dave Leitao with Tony Bennett.
