U-Md., VT, WVU Among Dozens Chasing Robinson LB
Robinson linebacker Brian Laiti "is getting a lot of love," according to Coach Mark Bendorf, but the 6-3, 210-pound junior has yet to narrow his college choices.
"I've had 44 coaches in so far since the last week of April, it's been a pretty steady stream," Bendorf said. "It's not all for him, I've got a couple other guys too. But he has a lot on his plate.
"He's in that stage of collecting information. He went to a fair amount of places in the winter. He's been to Maryland a couple times, he went to Virginia Tech's junior day, West Virginia's junior day. He's being proactive about investigating different schools and listening to what coaches have to say - checking his opportunity to play, defensive schemes, coordinators. He's being pretty thorough."
Among the schools to travel to Fairfax to check out Laiti have been Michigan (twice), Michigan State and Notre Dame.
"The longer a player like him stays open, the crazier it gets," Bendorf said. "At some point, if you're going to be a nationwide recruit, your phone is going to blow up, my phone is going to blow up."
