Anderson, Cook Selected for National Duty

DeMatha junior guard Quinn Cook and Montrose Christian sophomorecook.jpg forward Justin Anderson are among the 20 players invited to the USA Basketball National Developmental Team's mini-camp Oct. 9 to 11 in Colorado Springs, Colo.

The camp is slated to help the team prepare for next summer's under-17 world championships in Germany.

Lake Clifton of Baltimore Coach Herman Harried and former Montrose Christian coach Kevin Sutton are assistant coaches for the team.

addition to the original Developmental National Team members named on May 28, 2009, Michael Gilchrist (St. Patrick H.S. / Somerdale, N.J.), a 6-7 forward out of New Jersey, has been added to the 2009-10 roster. Anthony Wroten, Jr. (Garfield H.S. / Renton, Wash.) will be unable to participate in mini-camp due to injury.

The other players invited are: Kyle Anderson (Paterson Catholic/Fairview, N.J.); Brad Beal (Chaminade College Prep H.S/St. Louis); K.C. Caudill (Brea Olinda/Brea, Calif.); Angelo Chol (Herbert Hoover/San Diego); André Drummond (St. Thomas More/Middletown, Conn.); Perry Ellis (Wichita Heights/Wichita, Kan.); Sterling Gibbs (Seton Hall Prep/Scotch Plains, N.J.); Brandan Kearney (Southeastern/Detroit); James McAdoo (Norfolk Christian H.S./Norfolk, Va.); Johnny O'Bryant (Eastside/Cleveland, Miss.); Tony Parker (Miller Grove/Lithonia, Ga.); Norvel Pelle (Dominguez/Long Beach, Calif.); Chasson Randle (Rock Island/Rock Island, Ill.); L.J. Rose (Second Baptist School/Houston); Marquis Teague (Pike/Indianapolis); Adonis Thomas (Melrose/Cordova, Tenn.); Kevin Ware (Rockdale County/ Conyers, Ga.) and Michael Gilchrist (St. Patrick/Somerdale, N.J.). Anthony Wroten Jr. of Renton, Wash., will miss the camp because of an injury.
