Ballou lineman, Dunbar corner show well in New Jersey
Ballou defensive lineman Jamar Lewter was named the top lineman at this past weekend's Premier Showcase.
At an imposing 6-foot-7, 265 pounds, Lewter lined up at defensive end in the linemen drills, impressing with his quick feet and burst of speed off the edge. Named the top lineman at the event, Lewter lived up to his billing.
Lewter picked up his first scholarship offer, from North Carolina, just before the Turkey Bowl this past fall and now claims a handful more though things should pick up even more this spring.
Dunbar cornerback Vance Roberts also did well at the event. He already holds a scholarship offer from Syracuse and more could be coming shortly.
Also this past weekend, Damascus defensive back Brandon Phelps received his third scholarship offer when Duke made its pitch at its junior day on Saturday. Phelps last week was offered by Penn State and Maryland.
