USC, Ohio State pitch WCAC lineman
The scholarship offers keep coming in for St. John's defensive tackle Kevin McReynolds, who recently added Southern Cal and Ohio State to a list that includes Maryland, Rutgers, Pittsburgh, North Carolina, North Carolina State and East Carolina.
McReynolds, who is 6 feet 3 and 285 pounds, also was selected to play in next year's UnderArmour All-American Game. Shocking, I know, given that UnderArmour founder Kevin Plank is a St. John's alum and the company helps sponsor the Northwest Washington school's athletic program.
Among other juniors with scholarship offers, Gonzaga quarterback Kevin Hogan holds offers from Maryland, Virginia, Rutgers and Boston College. He missed the second half of the basketball season after breaking a finger in a game.
And Damascus defensive back Brandon Phelps earlier this week added an offer from Boston College.
