Phelps adds Alabama, wants to choose before season
Brandon Phelps still gets excited at each scholarship offer - Alabama recently was the 21st school to officially offer the Damascus junior wide receiver-defensive back - but he noted that as his list grows, making a choice becomes more problematic.
"It is a big deal for me," Phelps said. "But at the same time, it makes me a little upset because it makes my decision a little bit harder. But that's the process."
Phelps, whose father, Gary, played for Virginia, went to spring games at Virginia and Penn State. He plans to take several more visits this spring and summer and wants to make a decision before the season starts.
"I want to go to most of the schools that have offered," Phelps said. "I probably won't be able to get to all of them, but I want to get to as many as I can."
Phelps' list, if I can remember them all: Maryland, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Penn State, N.C. State, UCLA, West Virginia, Duke, Pittsburgh, Connecticut, Boston College, Illinois, Iowa, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Cincinnati, Notre Dame, Louisiana State, Nebraska, Alabama and Michigan.
