New Mexico comes calling for Watkins Mill's Upson
Watkins Mill senior wide receiver Daniel Upson received his first scholarship offer this week when New Mexico Coach Mike Locksley came calling.
Watkins Mill Coach Joe Rydzewski said last month, after Upson led the Wolverines to a 2-0 start for the first time in a decade, that several schools had been watching the 6-foot-3, 200-pounder, but were waiting for others to be the first to pull the trigger on an offer.
Maryland and West Virginia are among those also watching Upson. Rydzewski wrote in an email that he would expect more offers to start coming now that the first one has come.
