By Washington Post editors

Jay Whitmire / T.C. Williams lineman / 6-foot-8, 285 pounds

Emerged as one of the better and more athletic blockers in Northern Virginia over the past three seasons. Anchored both Titans' lines while collecting over a dozen Division I scholarship offers from schools such as Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Notre Dame, Penn State and North Carolina, among others. Missed half of his senior year because of an ankle sprain but finished with 24 tackles and four sacks. First team All-Met in 2009.
