zorny.. you're going down if you keep losing.. Why not go down with your best QB? Put in Collins...

Sam Rosen looks like Sneezy the dwarf!

What I wrote in the other thread:

Here was the key excerpt from Sally Jenkins's recent article:

"After losing to the Lions last week, cornerback DeAngelo Hall said, "You either want it or you don't. A lot of these guys don't want it. They want the other stuff." The paycheck-player, where's-mine environment is set by an owner who never seems to value the right qualities, and who so often seems to equate the size of a contract with character."

There are too many people here who just want to be paid and then stink up the joint. Frankly, at this point, if I were Snyder, I would start to figure out who wants to play--and who just wants to get paid. I have a feeling that too many just want to be paid for crappy performance.

And here is another key gem:

"How long can some players continue to give more while making a lot less? And how long can all of them keep fighting for Zorn when no one in the front office will step forward and preach real loyalty, by publicly declaring, "This is our coach and the path we're on."

And then there is the problem of allowing Portis to undermine the team. For years Snyder allowed Portis to openly undermine the coach on TV and the radio. What message does that send to the players about the coach and his authority?

Any hope at this point in salvaging the season is in changing QBs.

It's not like Campbell will be back next year anyway.

He's gone at this point unless a miraculous turnaround occurs.

Posted by: SteveMG | October 4, 2009 2:34 PM | Report abuse

jc had 18 qb rating ist half, yea 18

Posted by: mohawk44 | October 4, 2009 2:35 PM | Report abuse

Bench Campbell.
P.S. - I hate Carlos Rogers.

Posted by: aaronharman | October 4, 2009 2:35 PM | Report abuse

We're not doing ANYTHING with that pick. we will go three and out.

Posted by: rachel216 | October 4, 2009 2:35 PM | Report abuse

Good Pick!

Posted by: rickyroge | October 4, 2009 2:35 PM | Report abuse

At Deangelo can catch the ball ... too bad he cant teach Rogers how to.

Posted by: james808d | October 4, 2009 2:35 PM | Report abuse

way to act like youve done it before, me-angelo. next time take it to the house so the offense doesnt piss away the good field position

Posted by: snydercash4clunkers | October 4, 2009 2:36 PM | Report abuse

Good news: At least DHALL can catch.

Posted by: rachel216 | October 4, 2009 2:36 PM | Report abuse

what message does it send that Vinny made the decisions on who got cut in the last two preseasons.. ?? Not the Head Coach.. Result would be total loss of respect for Zorn (and no fear of him, either).

Posted by: snydercash4clunkers | October 4, 2009 2:38 PM | Report abuse

Well at least they can get a first down. They'll find a way to f!ck up this drive or Sean Suisham will miss the field goal.

Posted by: jiacinto | October 4, 2009 2:38 PM | Report abuse

bench campbell, landry, and country crock rogers.

don't even dress llandry, and rogers next week...see if you can wake them up...so much for blache saying things were gonna change....if jz can't see that a change needs to be made at qb, then fire his backside NOW

We have avoided the dreaded shutout

Posted by: noonefromtampa | October 4, 2009 2:42 PM | Report abuse

The Bucs have figured out Zorn's passing game. I refuse to believe that we don't have one WR that can get open on third downs. It's pathetic.

Posted by: TWISI | October 4, 2009 2:42 PM | Report abuse

good tackling on special teams boys

Posted by: snydercash4clunkers | October 4, 2009 2:43 PM | Report abuse

lh, that's nothing new with Cooley though.

People were saying that when they drafted Davis, he was to be more of the blocking TE.

I never seen Cooley shed the way Davis was today when trying to block.

Never until the day I die will understand drafting Fred Davis.

Posted by: RedDMV | October 4, 2009 2:43 PM | Report abuse

Did you guys hear Double G got the Saints game ball last week for his efforts as d-coord?

I can't help wondering what this team would look like if he were coaching it.

Posted by: Alan4 | October 4, 2009 2:43 PM | Report abuse

Posted by: BeantownGreg1 | October 4, 2009 2:44 PM | Report abuse

does anyone even WANT the skins to win this game? i feel like nothing good can come out of a win today, whereas the more we lose, the more reality will strike that wholesale changes need to be made.

Posted by: kman2 | October 4, 2009 2:44 PM | Report abuse

yea, those td catches marko made preseason were not designed plays, just a guy knowing how to score no matter the call

what an insight into the sorry state this team we love is in.

right now, for this game, forgetting the rest of the season - I cannot think of any good reason why Zorn does not replace Campbell - even if it's just for the second half today -

That third down play illustrates what's wrong with JC re pocket presence. The O-line had sealed the pass rush but he started patting his feet and rushed to get rid of the ball.

Red, Davis is a pass catching TE. He was the best TE coming out of college two years ago because his hands not his blocking.

Posted by: learnedhand1 | October 4, 2009 2:49 PM | Report abuse

The team has no reason to fear or respect Zorn because the owner allows Portis to unndermine him. And how does it make other players feel to see Portis be able to skip training camp, preseason, and practice?

TWISI, never said that Cooley was a great blocker at all. I think he's a pretty damn poor blocker to be frank.

But Fred Davis was drafted in the SECOND round for... um... who the F knows? He was a wasted pick, a pick that could have been used for a MLB or OL-G.

And trying to take on NY's d-linemen will make dudes look terrible 95% of the time.

lh, Washington was trying to make him into an effective blocker in this offense.

Since when has Washington drafted someone and intended on using them in the same capacity they were used in college?

They had a pass catching TE in Cooley. They f'd up with that pick, plain and simple.

Shanny and Holmgren or all the other decent HC's will want to bring in their own organizations (assistants). Most likely improbable in the middle of the season..

Snyder should bring in, quickly, a GM type consultant..to advise the team on moves before the NFL trade deadline..and other fixes. Then pull the trigger on Zorn at the end of year.

It would take more than a new QB or new coach to make a difference on this team. New QB and new coach would make a 4-12 season into, say, 7-9. Snyder knows that.

I say they play it out with what they've got, get the best draft picks, then make the big changes.

jc's locked in on cooley, no one on the sidelines is smart enough to know that the other team might be keying on this....don't throw it to moss/are/MK/DT, just FORCE it to cooley.

yeah they scored a TD, but this is just a microcosm of whats wrong with this team...te screen....rb screen....this offensive game plan is ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC...

Posted by: BeantownGreg1 | October 4, 2009 3:03 PM | Report abuse

he still sucks and owes us 2 more TD's to equal ints....no way that happens

He's thrown 2 TDs. He's also thrown 2 INTs, and the big fumble, leading to 7 of Tampa Bay's 10 points.

Chicago scored 48 points against Detroit! That is all I have to say this week. Pitiful!

Posted by: JohnWWW | October 4, 2009 5:14 PM | Report abuse

The defense showed up today and played reasonably well. That kept us in the game after the offenses's and Jason Campbell's terrible first half.

But the worst part of this team is not JC, even though the first half was the worst I've ever seen him play. Heyer was pushed into the backfield all day, couldn't move his feet and body to keep up with the DE, and if he could have blocked 58 on the screen to Cooley, Cooley would have had another 20 yards. Heyer stinks up the place every game. Rhino actually shows promise, and even though Rabach killed us with at least two costly holding penalties, I did see him go downfied and block. (First time I've seen that from him in a year.)

Don't bother drafting another QB until you get an OLine for him, Mr. Snyderatto. I know you don't draft OLine in fantasy football, but the NFL is not fantasy football. At least not for good NFL teams.

We are very lucky to have won. We do not play with Heart and soul. I love watching a Tampa player point towards Redskins as he pointed towards his heart. They really played hard. We should be grateful to the Tampa kicker for missingtwo field goals. Lets hope that we win next week.

Posted by: maz3 | October 4, 2009 8:36 PM | Report abuse

The Redskins are simply awful... no leadership, no energy, no spirit.
They are an insult to the uniform, to the players and coaches who have gone before them and to the investment skills of the owner.
