Redskins Insider: August 12, 2007 - August 18, 2007

Washington's Injury

Jasno just called this in...he's having Loseable Type issues: Marcus Washington dislocated his right elbow. X-rays showed no signs of fractures, so that, at least, is good news....

Campbell Bruised Knee

Walked off looking good and waved to crowd. Early indication is bruised knee and he will get more tets. Looks very good right now, though. Dodged a bad one, it appears. Campbell is on the sidelines now, with ice on his knee. Also, Doughty will be able to play now...

Late Scratches

Safety Reed Doughty, a 2006 draft pick battling for a roster spot, was a late scratch after having to undergo tests for a dilated pupil. Cornerback Ade Jimoh practiced all week but missed the game with an illness. Rreceiver James Thrash, who practiced as well, was out with an...

Saturday Night At FedEx - Something To Behold

There are new gates all over the place out here. Like everywhere. Even the sidewalks around the stadium are gated. This must be what the FedEx guy feels like who has the Snyder residence on his route. Also, as most of us could have guessed, Johnny Rockets is all over...

Pete Kendall

Got a bunch of emails about him the last few weeks, and talked to some NFL people today (from organizations other than the Skins) who have been in contact witht he Jets. As I have suspected, they are not looking to move the valuable O Lineman now, despite his clashes...

Disclaimer: No More Access

Over the course of the next 6 months I will get loads of comments and emails asked how so and so looks at practice. I will have to write this sentence over and over, but as a pre-emptive strike I will make this attempt anyway: Thursday was the last practice...

From The Grim Reaper's Mouth To Our Ears

Here's a snippet from the story running in Friday's paper with some of what Sean had to say: Yesterday, Taylor was defensive about some topics during his brief group session, and evasive about others, but answered every question, and conceded that he may be working harder now than ever. Gregg...

The Grim Reaper Speaks

Sean Taylor decided to speak to the schlubs today. Didn't say a whole lot but he did answer every question. Wish I had time to put it up here now, but I have too much stuff going on. I'll try to put some up later. As for other stuff: Pucillo...

Roster Roulette - DBs

Had a little debate in the media room among the schlubs yesterday about the roster. And, yeah, it was pretty geeky. Discussing whether they will carry 4 CBs and 5 Safeties, or the 5 CBs and 4 Safeties, and who the lucky dudes will be. I was staunchly in the...

More Warren

Soem league sources maintain the Redskins could still end up landing him for a late-round pick in a trade. The Redskins have maintained they are not the ones pushig for this Gerard Warren deal and don't have serious interest (of coiurse that's what they say about just about everything, so...

Observations

This morning's practice was essentially a light walk-through, so this won't be a typical two-a-day, in fitting with the overall tenor of camp. Saturday should be interesting, since the Skins have had it relatively easy compared to a lot of teams, and the Steelers are in the running for election...

Post Practice Update - Heyer, Pinkston, Etc.

Sorry for the delay - had to talk to a lot of people before I got back to the media room to blog. No changes planned for the O Line. LG Todd Wade (shoulder) and LT Stephon Heyer (hamstring) both missed most of practice but the injuries are said to...

Wow - Todd Pinkston Signed

Okay, some will look at this as a move of utter desperation, and I can't say I would argue with them. Skins sign Todd Pinkston, who most assumed was out of football for good after no one picked him up last season (cut by Eagles and then also Vikings after...

Gerard Warren (Updated)

Heard from a few league sources today that the Skins are among the teams who have talked to Denver about Warren. Word is the Broncos will ship him out for a 5th or 6th round pick. (UPDATE: Hear the Skins and Denver have talked, but that the Broncos are the...

Experiment Over?

Okay, like most of you the fact that a left side of the line consisting of Heyer and Wade got overwhelmed came as no surprise. In fact, I think most people in that building not named Gibbs or Bugel probably saw it coming. It could have been even worse than...
