A Campbell-Hasselbeck Preview

The latest Expedia "Go Like Pro Show" features Redskins QB (or "kewbee," as Jim Zorn likes to say) Jason Campbell in what I would say is a supporting role with Seattle's Matt Hasselbeck.

Frankly, I think Campbell is way underused in this webisode; it's odd to have him obliviously throwing a fubball as giant waves with teensy surfers are about to crash on him. And there's just too much Hasselbeck. JC has a nice presence (see: the Geico commercials) and a quirky sense of the absurd. They failed to tap into that and so I must give this video one thumb up for Campbell and down for Hasselbeck.

What's your rating?

Please, for the love of god, stop this.

Wow, let's hope JC is a better ball player than actor and that Matt is equally as poor a player as actor.

Yes, JM. They were off yesterday; the locker room opens in an hour or so and then they practice. So there will be updates then.

"Either way, and this is just a hunch, one of them is gone, and back into the picture comes....Leigh Torrence"

wait for it...........wait for it.......

WHY DID WE EVER LET ANTONIO PIERCE GO!!!!

Posted by: BeantownGreg

LMAO! If they thought Torrence was that good Hall wouldn't have been brought in.

JM220

Keep laughing and overreacting. It'll be funny to see how you guys spin this back into a Vinny love affair when Leigh Torrence is brought back to the team next season. James Thrash was once let leave only to be snatched back up by the Redskins a few years later.

Posted by: psps23 | November 19, 2008 10:05 AM | Report abuse

ARE had a low ankle sprain -- you could see them messing with the area below the ankle bone... if they were able to keep the swelling down, he'll be good to go.
Samuels is my big question mark... if Heyer is practicing at LT to let Samuels rest, then he can't get the reps in at RT.

Posted by: daggar | November 19, 2008 10:08 AM | Report abuse

psps23 I have a question for you. Why do I have to have a "Vinny love affair" because I don't agree with you? They guy was the 4th CB! It's not like he was a starter or first off the bench.

Man, this is so passive. "When they tell us, we'll tell you." We want to know now, and we want the truth (not TheTruth11). We can handle the truth.

You know we can't trust the Redskins FO for this kind of information. Last week they told us CP was in traction in a hospital and then he started the game. Send WaPo doctors to their homes disguised as cable upgraders. "We're here to give you more HD channels. Show us your leg."

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 19, 2008 10:10 AM | Report abuse

Psp,

It's just a joke. No one is saying LT wasn't good. It was just doom and gloom when we let him go. It's important to keep perspective is all.

Plus wasn't he picked up on waivers? If so doesn't he have to serve out his contract with the Saints?

Antonio Pierce

Leigh Torrence

If only we had guys like that....

Let's not jump the gun on re-signing Hall for a multi-million dollar contract. The guy was a great pickup for basically the vet minimum. As an every-down starting corner, I'm nowhere near sold yet. He WAS beat on that interception, and beat badly, it just so happened that the pass Romo threw was just as bad as Hall's coverage.

Posted by: psps23 | November 19, 2008 9:46 AM

No chance Rogers makes that pick. Not if you gave him 10 tries to do it. Hall is a playmaker; most interceptions happen because a QB makes a mistake. So don't poo-poo his pick because Romo threw behind the receiver. He threw it behind Hall too and he still made the play!

I'll agree with Flounder's "F Hasselbeck" remark. Unless his sister-in-law is stark naked I'm completely disinterested in that entire family.

That he does. But his contract is up after this season. He'll be a FA.

Posted by: psps23 | November 19, 2008 10:12 AM | Report abuse

Brownwood,

No way Rogers makes that pick I agree. But that is probably because Carlos would have been two steps farther to the middle of the field actually covering TO. Hall was beat by two steps on a slant route which is akin to 10 yards on a post pattern.

Either way, Leigh Torrence covers TO, Makes the interception, balances the budget (bailouts included), gets the Sirius Star back then takes that INT to the house....just saying...

Posted by: Gweez | November 19, 2008 10:15 AM | Report abuse

Wow...two weeks later and there's still Torrence talk. You'd think this guy was Darrell Green in his prime. Unreal...

WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT???

Posted by: alex35332 | November 19, 2008 10:16 AM | Report abuse

Torrence is justaguy... he can be our justaguy next year, no problem with me, but it seemed to me that the Torrence vs. Tryon debate was just silly. You have to read a lot of tea leaves to infer something "Really Important" about it.
I personally blame it on George Lucas. "Star Wars" makes everyone look for the grand conspiracy, even when choosing between Storm Trooper #43 and Storm Trooper #44...

JM220 -

Ok, maybe you don't have a Vinny love affair, just a JLC hate affair. Nevertheless, ANY time JLC has posted something against the grain of what the Redskins or Vinny actually did, you almost ALWAYS side with Vinny (I say almost because I won't put a definite stamp on it, even though I can't remember one time when you actually did agree with JLC and disagree with Vinny).

Posted by: psps23 | November 19, 2008 10:17 AM | Report abuse

It isn't a matter of "when they tell us," TE, it's a matter of when we get access to ask him and observe how they're moving.

I have no beef with Matt Hastelback, unless the skins are playing the seahawks I don't really mine the team from Washington West. But his sister-in-law is a psycho nut job. I mean co-hosts on The View, that does not help. Than again my cousin in law also co-hosted the view, but she is very much the anti-Hastelback.

Typically on Wednesday, which is the first day we see most of player, we take a stick and poke the ones who are hurt. That's how we know how they're doing.

Speaking of making things up, is there a site anywhere that would tell you how many snaps any player took during the game? Like, for example, if you thought you saw more Devin Thomas last week than Thrash, and you wanted to see if that was actually true?

1) You can't just drop a nugget like "my cousin in law also co-hosted The View" and not say who your cousin is. You gotta tell.

2) Elisabeth Hasselbeck is COMPLETELY nuts, but she has the best pair of legs on television this side of Katie Couric and is smokin' hot. As long as she keeps her mouth shut, I'd love to get a shot at her title.

Why are we still talking about Leigh Torrence?

1 game - DeAngelo has made more of an impact than Leigh did after 8 games. Psps, get over it.

Wait, I bet if Leigh was on special teams he would have knocked out Rock trying to down that punt on the 1 and we would have gotten a safety and won the game, right?

Go root for the Saints if you love the guy so much.

Thank you Gweez, that's all I was saying. By the way, maybe Rogers doesn't make that pick even if it hit him in the hands, but Hall doesn't create the Macintosh pick by drilling TO on that same quick slant.

Hall and Rogers have different skill sets, both of which are valuable for different reasons. If they become our 1/2 CB's next year QB's got to make a choice, Do I want to risk throwing a pick on every pass or risk my receiver seeing birdies fly around his head every pass?

Posted by: psps23 | November 19, 2008 10:34 AM

No. Just saying that Hall is not a bum. Rogers can cover a WR all day and night. Just don't think he's going to get you the ball. Hall's biggest problem is that he gambles on picks and on occasion gives up plays. I don't think you can ignore the fact that he's got about as many picks this year alone as Rogers has HIS WHOLE CAREER. Rogers is solid, but Hall makes plays.

No offense Alex, but your cousin-in-law is hot. Big Lisa Ling fan.

I expected Shaun Alexander to see some carries last game. After all, with 2 RBs limping around on one leg, you'd expect your perfectly healthy veteran pick-up to step in.

Now we go to Seattle. Conventional wisdom says that Shaun Alexander will be hyped up to play against old team, in front of old fans, yada yada.

How many carries does Alexander get? And if he gets 0-1 carry again, then WHY DO WE KEEP HIM ON THE FRICKIN' ROSTER!?!?!?!

Possible answers:

a. Some of the players like to rub his head before the game for good luck.
17. He bakes a mean cupcake.
&. He gets all those stubborn grass stains out of the uniforms after the game.
2. He's the first reserve racketball player - and always loses.
B. He's the only guy on the roster who can speak fluent Zornish.
%. He's first in at Redskins Park every day and brings the bagels and coffee.
t. Because we can.
0. Justin Case.
