Cant put that on Rabach, the refs f-ed that up. Zach Thomas admitted that he simply slipt and fell when rabach was called for holding on the play where portis scored.
One of my favoirte aspects of this team is that they have a vetran player(often times a former probowler) at just about every position, with the exception of QB and safty(although i consider LL to play like a vet, he plays well beyond his years). Having those kind of vetrans that ghuys that have been here ansd seen these things before will prove to be sop valuable down the streatch and in sitations like the one this weekend. We have every right to be riding high after the last three games but there are gonna be guys in the locker rooms and at every position meeting reminding younger guys of the work that still has to be done and how going to Philly will be equally as physical as any game they have played before.

"In other Redskins news, the team has been ordered by a federal judge to continue running captioned play-by-play at FedEx Field and begin showing the lyrics of songs played in the stadium to offer deaf and hard-of-hearing fans the full game experience. "

Why is this even an issue? What, Danny doesn't make enough money that there has to be a lawsuit to assure hearing impaired people get to enjoy the game?

Is this a ruling from the same guy who flew everyone to Taylor's funeral and who has loaned Redskin One to players to make sure they are there when their wives give birth?

It doesn't make sense. Don't mess with good Karma, when you're on a roll, Mr. S.

Frikkin' Lasers.

This playing well is a double edged sword. Now I'm very nervous on a Friday. I'm like Sunday morning nervous for this game already.

I really hope Springs can play.

The 'deaf' ruling is a joke. How are they going to accomadate blind people, will they allow them on the field to feel the players running around them?

You can't make everything perfect for everyone.

He's been doing it voluntarily since he was sued by 3 fans in 2006. This just made it required by law.

It's pathetic that this was even a lawsuit. Hearing-impaired or not, these fans are the lowest of the low if they stand to make a dime off the Redskins for this BS.

Wow....Vinny just interviewed Howard Eskin (who is a radio host in Philly) on 980. Eskin said there is NO WAY the Skins will win on Sunday. Absolutely NO WAY! Eskin said if the Skins pull off a miracle win he will walk all the way to DC from Philly - that is how sure he is about the outcome.

Greg,

He had to get his shot in for the day, we will not see much of him unless the team starts losing.

From Yahoo:

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=AmK1nZTxWHdefpzguTSBO3lDubYF?slug=jc-honestzorn100108&prov=yhoo&type=lgns

Some 30 years ago, under a beautiful blue sky on a remote lake near Seattle, then-Seahawks quarterback Jim Zorn had taken his future wife, Joy, out on a boat. As Joy recalls, the moment was at the edge of “really romantic” when Zorn leaned over to say something to her.

“I’m there on the boat, no purse, nothing, and Jim says, ‘Joy, I hate to tell you this, but you have really bad breath,’ ” Joy said. “I have no mints, nothing I can do about it. It ruined the whole evening. I’m like, ‘Gee whiz, you could have given me some mints or offered me some gum or just not say anything’ ”

I thought it was pretty funny.

Every national commentator said the same thing about the Skins and Dallas.

Eskin has never played, he knows about as much as the rest of those idiots, it's easy to pick the eagles in this game the Skins back to back on the road in the division.

We will see what happens on the field, Giants had no chance in the Superbowl according to all the experts. If you suit it up you have a chance.

Go Skins
F Philly

That Eskin guy is a chooch. How could anyone at this point say there is no way the Skins beat any team. Given the limited info we have in this young season the Skins appear to be the equal of any team out there.

If JC keeps playing the way he has... If you are solid at QB you have a chance in every game.

Homer fans, no way that the Eagles have better LB's

How about some predictions with support for your position.

I got the Skins winning based upon their superior offensive balance. Westbrook is not going to play (if he's out there he will be severely limited - he will not be able to cut on that ankle). Defense will score this week.

Final score: 24-17

Posted by: learnedhand1 | October 3, 2008 10:57 AM | Report abuse

Cooley needs to have a huge game, he should be able to beat any body that is covering him.

Posted by: Flounder21 | October 3, 2008 10:57 AM | Report abuse

from the Philly paper linked above :

"Secondary

Eagles: Jim Johnson said he wouldn't necessarily let offenses dictate when he would put his three cornerbacks on the field, but so far he has. After giving up a total of six TD passes in losses to the Cowboys and Bears, he may give more thought to playing with three corners on first and second down.

Redskins: Hard-hitting rookie Chris Horton beat out Reed Doughty for the starting SS job, but was benched last week after blowing a coverage on a Tony Romo TD pass to Jason Witten. Horton is a playmaker, though. He's already got three interceptions. CB Shawn Springs, 33, suffered a calf strain vs. Cowboys.

PICK: EAGLES"

also :

"2. Eagles WR DeSean Jackson vs. Redskins CBs Shawn Springs or Carlos Rogers: Jackson disappeared in the second half Sunday night at Chicago. Springs, 33, is nursing a calf injury. Advantage: Eagles"

DJAX is good but gimme a break, they must've missed the first half against the Cowgirls

Posted by: TheTruth11 | October 3, 2008 11:00 AM | Report abuse

Flounder, I see them trying to match up their CB's on Cooley. I think he will get a TD Sunday, as will Sellers. I think the team will switch to a power game against a blitzing D and a lot of zone blitzing from our D. Low scoring clock moving game, Redskins 17 Eagles 13

Alex,

I can agree with that.

Posted by: Flounder21 | October 3, 2008 11:06 AM | Report abuse

Heres a question. How many points up and how late do you try and get till you start runing out the clock as best you can? If you have a 10 point lead middle of the 2nd quarter, try runing the clock out as best you can?

Posted by: alex35332 | October 3, 2008 11:09 AM | Report abuse

Practice is underway with the lads in shells and sweats. Washington and Springs are practicing; Heyer and Taylor are on the field but are sans helmets.

Posted by: Cindy Boren | October 3, 2008 11:12 AM | Report abuse

Check that, Springs helmeted and on the field, but not practicing yet.
Andre Carter is back after being excused for personal reasons.

Posted by: CindyBoren | October 3, 2008 11:13 AM | Report abuse

Predictions? Skins 24-20. I say Westbrook plays and does his usual damage but our defense puts the clamps on in the redzone and the 4th. Secondary shuts down DeSean Jackson because Landry puts the wood on him early. Landry gets a pick.

Our offense beats the birds with Cooley hot routes and the receivers on screens. Pounding the ball loosens up the corners and JC keeps the safeties amd LB's honest by running for a few firsts early to beat blitzes. Overall, probably a pretty ugly game.

Posted by: scampbell1975 | October 3, 2008 11:16 AM | Report abuse

First I like the game plan i think Cooley score because he is overdue. I think Sellers is really a key player today, there linebakers are very good, Gaiters is huge and fast and Gocong has looked better theis year then i have ever seen him play. Sellers can really loosen up our running game by smacking them around, Portis riding the Sellers train would be nice , Bu ti would love to see a screen or short pass or something to sellers in a red zone situation.

Heres a question. How many points up and how late do you try and get till you start runing out the clock as best you can? If you have a 10 point lead middle of the 2nd quarter, try runing the clock out as best you can?

Tyring to run down the clock to early was the downfall of Gibbs 2.0. When we had leads it was all run with no chance of passing atack. The fourth qtr is the only time you really need to run down the clock, before then you can emphasis your run more but you cannot make it one dimensional. We tried to do that under Gibbs and constatly were getting caught up to or passed in the 4th. If you have a lead late its prefect anything before the 4th is dangerous. The way I see Zorn he continually atacks, love the killer mentallity, even when your runnning dow the clock late that presnet the perfect opportunity to go deep which is where i see a major diffrence between zorn and gibbs.

Posted by: Stu27 | October 3, 2008 11:17 AM | Report abuse

I dont think we are overlooking the iggles. We know their place, we know they are tough. Zorn is right on the mark about keeping it 'medium'.

Thats what I see about this team this year, quiet confidence. Gibbs gave us fortitude, Zorn gives us hope. They are vets, they needed a good scheme that wasnt predictable.

The better Zorn does this year the worse Gibbs and Saunders outdated way of doing things looks. Maybe we didnt squeak into the playoffs last 2 of 3 years, maybe we were held back.

Either way, I know it feels D@mn good to know your team isnt going to kill themselves with stupid plays and will press on offense to score points...

BTW Go Good Counsel... Boo Dematha

scamp, if Westbrook is limited by his ankle, and can't cut like he usually does, I think the Redskins are able to contain him more so than usual.

Rather than your ad hominum reply, why don't you put some thought in your response and actually defend Snyder's move in this regard?

My comments reflect not dislike but bafflement. Let me 'splain. I ADMIRE Snyder's generosity flying skins and family to Taylor's funeral and using his plane for family emergencies with players.

I DON'T admire him having to be sued to allow people who happen to be hard of hearing to fully enjoy his Redskins. It doesn;' even make good busines sense as he could easily slip on an ad, a la "Enjoy plenty o' $12. Brewskis, deaf Peeps!"

Now if you can explain his behavior in this regard, I'd LOVE to hear it.

kmcguiney

I love Riggo, but his show just wasn't that good. He's MUCH better as a guest with Doc or the Sport Reporters. He clearly became neutered when talking critically about the Skins once he had his own show. (almost like Larry Michael)

As a guest he's been fair both ways with his opinions, even taking shots at Snyder which he would of never done before. You'll never get enough people to get that show back on, it simply wasn't that good.
