Afternoon Doldurms
Making calls, sending out emails and watching Man U/Lille while I work and the girls nap (if this game is half as good as Lpool/Barca then I'll be doing cartwheels).
Still making calls on various trades and free agent stuff, but it's kinda dry right now. Not much left out there at O Line or TE that could be considered "sexy" and I think they'll sign a stop-gap guy at both spots in the end. Wish I had more, but it can't be crazy everyday, can it?
Plus, it's still early and you never know what you're going to hear.
Cheers.

JLC - any word on our interest in Randy McMichael? And could Stephen Alexander be a possibility to come back now that Denver's cut him?

Jason, I'm suprised to hear that there aren't blocking tight ends or offensive lineman considered "sexy."

Enough on Lavar. He hates the coaching staff. they hate him. He's 29 this season coming off major knee issues, and now a torn achilles tendon. Let it go.

Love the updates you give, beat everyone to the punch.
More pressing matters....hopefully we can make the trade with Denver work for us. I think Bly would be good here. Take denvers 1st and Springs to work back up into the mid first 11-18. I would love to see us get Landry to pair with ST. What are the chances. Then use or 2nd from Denver to maybe get Jarvis Moss-he will be a better rush end than either Arkansas guy or Adams.

Need something to do on a slow day...cut John Hall already!!
What is the big delay to cut this guy? I would rather take a cap hit, then watch this guy miss another FG. Is the "idiot kicker" still liquored up and available?

That is a good question about Hall. Are the skins looking for a possible trade or would it be better to cut him after June 1st? I'm not too solid on Bly, I think it would be better to just pay Springs what he is due this year, but still trade down from the 6th pick to get 3 picks on the first day.

imposter Chris Larry- may you be trampled by a herd of Russ Grimm minotaurs

When talking about a trade for Bly you have to remember what they gave detroit to get him!The redskins will have to give up way to much.Denver isnt going to say oh well to losing bell and that tackle and a draft pick!!

How about Olindo Mare as kicker for the skins? He's expected to be cut anytime if not already.

Newbie here. Just started lookn at the site this weekend and i think its great. Living in Ohio its hard to find and places where I can talk about the skins. One question though, while i am reading or writing posts I need to hit refresh to see what else is said is there a better way.Any help would be appreciated.

Jason, any interest in Matt Lehr, who was just cut by the Falcons, to fill the guard spot? He's a little small at 6'2" and 304 pounds but would be cheap(er), is only 28 years old, and has 3 years of starting experiance.

This is a slow day when kickers are getting talked about. Is Suisham def not in the plans? I felt pretty good about him making kicks when he lined up.
I heard Cory Raymer plays a mean guard spot. We should bring him back.

If we make the trade with denver. Maybe in the 3rd rd we will take the best kicker in the draft.

It's about time with cutting Hall. Shaun Suisham is the next Ali Haji Sheik. In addtion I think we should bring back big Tre Johnson and Scott Galbrith.

If we do get a kicker out of the draft, I hope it is Mason Crosby from Colorado. He has a huge leg. I've seen him kick some through from close to 60 yards out with ease.

John Hall thankfully has been cut. Lets sure up more draft picks and keep Springs. What I would like to see happen, make a trade with Carolina - our 6th for their 1st (14th) and 2nd (45th) - (This going strictly thinking Carolina would want to jump ahead of everyone for the race to get Quinn with last years poor performance from Delhomme) We would then "hope" that OKEYE falls to 14 and if not we pick up the best avail DT or DE, then with the 45th pick, we select Ben Grubbs - the OG from Auburn. ANNNND with our 4th round pick, CB Eric Wright from UNLV or the blazing fast, cover corner Travarous Bain from Hampton. Just my 2 cents.

woo-hoo! See ya Hall! Good riddance. I think that with a better kicker we would have won 3-4 more games the past 2 seasons...missed kicks, the fear of kicking b/c our kicker sucked, etc. Every team can play that what-if game, but I never had confidence in Hall...ever. I miss Chip Lohmiller!
Posted by: stlskinsfan | March 7, 2007 3:56 PM | Report abuse
Hail to 'em - sounds like a good plan. They should definetly wait until the draft gets closer to see who the highest bidder might be.
Posted by: skinswest | March 7, 2007 4:12 PM | Report abuse
by keeping Springs EVEN THOUGH he cost more (right now) and he is older. He KNOWS the system. Which since Marty, we have had either a total change of coaches and systems, or Defensive/Offensive. It will be hard even for the more talented teams, Bears, Chargers etc.. (lost players and more importantly coaching systems) FINALLY we have some continuity. No "new offenses, no new Defenses. The same players for the most part are coming back. Also I would like to make a strong push for Wade. He filled in great when Jansen was out. Why not make him a respectable offer? He could possibly want crazy money.

Lohmiller turned out to be a stiff. Bring back Mark Moseley.
