Albert Haynesworth ends practice early
Defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth cut practice short Tuesday morning because he wasn't feeling well, but the details are a bit murky.
Haynesworth participated in individual drills, but when the team went into 11-on-11, he didn't last long. For much of practice, Haynesworth could be seen without his pads and with a towel on his head. At the conclusion of practice, Haynesworth offered few clues.
"Ask the coach," he said. "I have no comment."
While teammates said heat seemed to get the better of Haynesworth, Coach Mike Shanahan said that wasn't the case. Haynesworth stopped practicing early in the morning session, before the heat at Redskins Park really began to pick up.
"Really don't know what it is," Shanahan said.
As Haynesworth learns the new defense and strives to make the jump to the first-team, any additional missed practice time could be costly. He already has missed the bulk of training camp as he tried to pass a conditioning test. But Haynesworth should return to full practice mode Wednesday if today's setback isn't serious.
"I just think he wasn't feeling good. I'm not exactly sure what it was," the coach continued. "Doctors didn't feel like it was heat-related. He just was sick."

Probably dehydration if only someone had payed attention to the fans who called for an indoor facility at redskins park...

right. that's what most people do when they have bubbleguts; just sit outside with a towel over their head and make no attempt to get to a toilet. you're slightly smarter than a woodpile, brownturd26. more likely, his problem is fear. 9/12/10 is one day closer and he still has to face a real offensive line. redtards are an absolute trainwreck. what's next? your cornerback deangelo fall tackles somebody?

"My vote is to just grab all the top WR's in free agency."
My vote is to keep the young'ns--Thomas, Armstrong, Banks, and Austin--and depend on passing game production from Moss, Cooley, and Davis.
Out of the 4 young'ns, you might groom 2 decent receivers and an excellent special teams guy to add a vet and drafted guy to next year.
That's how you rebuild at that position.

for those who claim that DT/#11 has his head up his butt...from his coach:
"His attitude has been great," Shanahan said the other day. "He's working hard. I think he's said it best: You've got to go out there everyday and prove yourself and you've got to do the little things the right way. He's gone out there, he's worked and he's tried to improve in every area. I like his attitude. I like his work ethic."

My client's fine.
He's just giving a little reminder to Shanahan that the whole conditioning test and switch-to-nose-tackle power play has not been forgotten. Now, if the Redskins were to sweeten the pot with more guaranteed money or a bonus of some sort, Mr. Haynesworth might be inclined to put forth more effort and drop the surly attitude.
Again, I give you no guarantees.

when albert says,
"Ask the coach," he said. "I have no comment."
that sounds like a disciplinary thing - like coach took him out. based on what teammates apparently said maybe it was the heat (and/or dehydration) causing big al to "dog it" on a few plays, and shanny didn't like that. who knows? let's take al's suggestion and ask coach:
"Really don't know what it is," Shanahan said.
translation: "i really don't know why albert is the only one getting tired..."
love the disinformation campaign - i just hope al was tired or whatever, and not injured.

I am a minority opinion, but the Skins have had 0 luck with developing WR's since the end of the dynasty. My vote is to just grab all the top WR's in free agency.
Posted by: alex35332 | August 17, 2010 12:24 PM
Considering we have a new GM making the picks, I think you have to throw out past history in that regard. I'm pretty convinced that Allen will do a better job than Vinny did. Shanahan seems to have a good history at developing WR's, so that should help too.
My vote, however, is for an OG in the first round next year. I would like to see the O-line rebuilding continue to be top priority.

Nope and this will continue until he can be dumped into someone elses lap.

Big Al sharted. Thats it, and Shanny wouldn't let him leave immediately. Made him "stew" in his own $h!t. Big Al was "hiding" under that towel on his head, hoping noone would notice the big brown stain. Poor Poopsworth... He finally left cause the coach said he was stinking up the field. Why would he want to comment?

He used to be dominant...in his contract year. Now he is just above average only because of his talent. He's was all about his big payday, now he has no motivation at all. He has no drive to want to be good and therefore, will just rest on his talent and be just above average for the rest of his career.
The big tub of goo actually felt out of place actually working for the cause with his teammates...he came to reality, put his baseball cap back on, was twirling his helmet along the sidelines, and watched his buddies bust their butts. Now, Fat Albert was back in his comfort zone...

Hey Skins fans - Big Al played his one game of the year - what more do you expect?
And as far as the Cowboys go - How many point did the skins score last game with us?
And how many points did the beagles score their last game with us?
We are looking forward to Mcblab and Big Al.
All we need is Krispy Kreme donut on the sidelines and Big Al is done.
Actually the skins shouldn't worry about the Boyz this year, they need to watch out for the Lions again.
Even Spurrier looked good in the preseason....................................................................

AH is a high-maintenance disgruntled employee. Too bad as he has talent, but
won't use it. Not even our great HC can cure the attitude problem. The owner should mark him down under the appropriate profit and/or loss column and move on with someone wo WANTS to play...or so it seems.

He needs to be used in spots like Strasburg. Limit him to third downs and perhaps goal line stands, if not too tired. 6 to 10 snaps during the first half, another 4 to 6 in the third quarter, and whatever he can do in the fourth.

How long are you going to carry off this vendetta against Albert Haynesworth?
Mike Shanahan has moved on-why can't the Redskins Insider?
I'm actually sympathetic to the guy ONLY because I see you are hell-bent and determined to keep stoking the flames.
So, let me point this out-You are a grown-a/z/z man, how long are you going to be a b/i/t/c/h about AH.
How many more bombastic, propagandistic storylines, storytitles, and polls simply to stir the $ht up about AH?
